John Cabot University - Scholarship Information


John Cabot University, founded in 1972, is an overseas American liberal arts university located in the historic center of Rome.   The University is accredited in the United States by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education ( and is authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education to operate as a four-year American university in Italy.


There are two main campuses, a library that includes many electronic databases and e-books, computer labs, and studio arts facilities, all within a short walk from each other. Students may live in the University’s student residence, off-campus apartments, or find their own housing. The student residence has 24/7 security as well as a gym, social space, and a study room. Campuses are equipped with wi-fi. 


Student enrollment is 1000 and uniquely composed of degree-seeking students from Italy and over 50 countries, as well as study abroad students from over 130 United States universities, which results in a very dynamic and diverse international community of young scholars. 


Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in: Business Administration, Economics and Finance, International Business, Marketing, Art History, Classical Studies, English Literature, History, Humanistic Studies, Italian Studies, Communications, International Affairs, and Political Science.  After graduating, students are accepted at some of the world’s most prestigious graduate programs or begin international careers.


Small class sizes feature an average of 15 students per professor, who are selected based on not only their academic credentials but also on their teaching expertise. Academic programs emphasize critical thinking, research, writing, and innovative thinking. Competitive internships and exchange programs are also available.


 John Cabot University has scholarships available for qualified students from the Republic of Georgia.  The Expansion Scholarship is a €4,000 annual scholarship. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have demonstrated academic achievement and leadership potential. JCU Presidential Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement and range from €3,750 to €7,000 annually. Students are automatically considered for a scholarship based on their application to JCU. No additional application is required.
